Held under the slogan "A Step Toward Hope" carrying the universal wish to overcome COVID-19 and return to everyday life, the 2021 Gangnam Festival ran as a hybrid online-offline event combining seven diverse cultural programs — including a fashion show, orchestra, traditional Korean music, media art, opera, K-POP concert, and dance — across Gangnam-gu and broadcast through the Gangnam-gu Office YouTube channel.
