The 2025 Gangnam Festival will commence with the Opening Ceremony and Vision Proclamation on September 26 at 7 p.m., on a special stage in front of COEX. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Gangnam-gu Office, the event will look back on its remarkable journey over the past five decades and present a vision for the next 50 years, marking a meaningful moment that connects the city with the world.

The Vision Proclamation will open with a lively street performance by Samulnori Hanullim, followed by a dazzling show of line rockets, laser beams, and special effects. Next, 250 performers will join in a grand chorus of the theme song  “Gangnam 2070”, leading into the symbolic lighting of the ‘Light of Gangnam 2070’ to mark the official opening. To make the moment even more meaningful, 50 citizens—selected in advance to represent Gangnam—will take part, reflecting the spirit of “Together Toward the Future of Gangnam 2070.”

At the Opening Ceremony, 120 performers will present a multimedia extravaganza of video, music, and choreography. Featured acts include renowned musical actress Kim So-hyun, singer Tei, the Chumnori Young Talent Arts Troupe, the Gangnam United Children’s Choir, the Korea National University of Arts Dance Company, and the b-boy crew King of Connection.”
