Its responsibilities include training instructors, hosting demonstration performances and major domestic and international competitions, supporting the World Taekwondo Federation and Korea Taekwondo Association, and operating the Taekwondo Instructors' Training Center. International events such as the World Taekwondo Hanmadang are all held here at Kukkiwon. The facility includes an arena seating 3,000 spectators along with supporting amenities.
