Road Closures for Gangnam Festival 2026

Closure period: Sat 3 – Mon 5 October 2026 Dosan-daero area

For the Gangnam Festival 2026 Grand Parade and main events, roads around Dosan-daero will be closed from Saturday 3 October to Monday 5 October. Traffic near the festival site may be restricted or delayed during this period. Please avoid driving and use public transport, such as the subway, wherever possible.

At a glance

Sat 3 Oct, all day — the stretch from the southern end of Yeongdong-daero to Hakdong Intersection runs on 6 lanes instead of 12.
Sat 3 Oct, 14:00–20:00 — during the Grand Parade, the parade-direction lanes between Cheongdam and Hakdong Intersections are closed.
Sat 3 Oct 00:00 – Mon 5 Oct 05:00 — Hakdong Intersection to Dosan Park Intersection is fully closed in both directions.
Bus routes and stops along Dosan-daero may be temporarily suspended or diverted.

① Parade staging area — partial closure

Sat 3 October, 00:00 – 24:00 Southern end of Yeongdong-daero – Cheongdam Intersection – Hakdong Intersection

Six lanes on one side of the centre line are closed for the parade procession and staging.
Traffic runs in both directions on the remaining six lanes.
Because 12 lanes are reduced to 6, congestion is expected to be heavier than usual.
If you are travelling through this area, please take an alternative route or use public transport.

② Grand Parade route — partial closure

Sat 3 October, 14:00 – 20:00 Cheongdam Intersection – Hakdong Intersection

The lanes in the parade direction are closed while the Grand Parade is under way.
The six lanes on the opposite side stay open for two-way traffic.
During the parade, temporary congestion and delays may occur as the procession moves.
Drivers are advised to use alternative routes or public transport.

③ Main festival venue — full closure

Sat 3 October 00:00 – Mon 5 October 05:00 Hakdong Intersection – Dosan Park Intersection

All lanes in both directions are closed while the main festival venue is built and operated.
General traffic and buses cannot pass during this period.
One emergency-access lane is kept open for people using facilities near the venue.
Closures are lifted progressively after the festival ends, with full reopening by 05:00 on Monday 5 October.

The time-based maps below cover Saturday 3 October only. On Sunday 4 and Monday 5 October, the full closure described in ③ (Hakdong Intersection – Dosan Park Intersection) remains in place until it is fully lifted at 05:00 on Monday 5 October.

Bus information

Because of the closures, bus routes and stops serving the Sinsa Station direction on Saturday 3 October and Dosan-daero between Hakdong Intersection and Dosan Park Intersection on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October may be temporarily suspended or diverted.
Diversion details will be announced on board the buses in advance.
On festival days, traffic guides and on-site staff will be stationed at major stops and closure points.
