Welcome to Gangnam!

Greetings to local and international tourists who have come across the Visit Gangnam tourism information website. I am Cho Sung Myung, the head of the Gangnam-gu district.

The Gangnam district is working to create 'Gangnam: Where Dreams Converge, Future Unfolds,' a place that turns dreamed future into reality. Located south of the Hangang River in Seoul, Gangnam is not only a financial, economic, and educational hub, but also a city that leads trends in lifestyle, fashion, shopping, and Hallyu culture.

By 2028, an international exchange complex zone, including a mega underground city and the Yeongdong-daero Metropolitan Transfer Center, will be established in the Samsung-dong and COEX area. It will be a source of Seoul's pride and serve as a gateway to the world.

Visit Gangnam provides information on various festivals and tourism, including the Gangnam Festival, where you can experience the dynamic and lively Gangnam. We hope that local and international tourists explore and experience the multifaceted attractions of Gangnam, filled with things to see and enjoy every day throughout the year.

Thank you.

FAQ

You can reach Gangnam via Gangnam Station (Subway Line 2), Sinnonhyeon Station (Line 9), or Apgujeong Rodeo Station (Bundang Line). From Incheon Airport, Airport Limousine Bus 6020 takes about 70 minutes. From Seoul Station, it takes roughly 30 minutes after transferring to Line 4.

Gangnam's five major landmarks are Garosu-gil, the Gangnam Station area, Apgujeong Rodeo, Cheongdam Luxury Street, and the COEX area. Each has its own theme — fashion, dining, K-Beauty, luxury, and MICE.

Sinsa-dong Garosu-gil is the signature street packed with K-Beauty stores. It hosts flagship and experience stores from many Korean beauty brands, and Cheongdam-dong also features flagship stores of global beauty brands.

We recommend a course starting at COEX Starfield Library and continuing to Bongeunsa Temple and Seonjeongneung Royal Tombs. The Samseong-dong area — where modernity and tradition coexist — showcases the many charms of Gangnam.

The Gangnam Station and COEX Tourist Information Centers are in operation. For locations and hours, see the Tourist Information Centers page.
