Introduction

Near Daecheong Station in Ilwon-dong lies Daecheong Village. In the Joseon era, a 99-room hanok stood here, its great hall visible all the way from old Jamsil — hence the name Daecheong ('great hall') Village, which endures to this day. The village's main park is Daecheong Neighborhood Park at Ilwon-dong 621. With a youth reading room inside the park, it's well-used by students, and the annual 'Daecheong-gol Festival' brings the community together in celebration.
